Since joining the Hematology Department of Beijing Children's Hospital in 1983, Doctor Zhang has been engaged in clinical work related to pediatric hematology and oncology for over 40 years. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various pediatric blood and tumor diseases. In 2003, she took the lead in establishing the lymphoma specialty at Beijing Children's Hospital and became the head of this specialty. In 2017, she spearheaded the formation of the China-Net Childhood Lymphoma (CNCL) and served as its leader. She was the first in the country to implement refinedly stratified chemotherapy protocols in line with international standards, which have increased the overall cure rate for pediatric lymphoma to 80%-90%. She has undertaken multiple research projects at the provincial and municipal levels, published over 120 related papers in professional journals such as Blood and Blood Advances, and authored 10 professional books. From 1999 to 2004, she has served as a visiting scholar multiple times at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the United States, the Prince of Wales Hospital Children's Oncology Center at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States.
